Basically, there are two lines: a single and a double track one.

They run to a "complex crossing" leading to a loop with a shadow station.

• The single track line would be a non electrified line [or maybe with a simplified type catenary in tramway style, or with wooden masts], the signals are old semaphore type [partly Märklin and the others Viessmann]. On this line there would be small trains [e.g.: Bayerische VI with peat train, P II with Pfälzische wagonset, etc.]. At its end a small size Epoque II/III station.

• The double track line is a more recent construction: it's fully electrified, with light signals [maybe swiss SBB signals from Schneider...] Swiss [Ae 8/14], German, French [Le Capitole], Italian, Austrian trains, mostly for tourism or museum traffic. It ends with a medium size Epoque V station.

• The shadow station and the crossing are the masterpieces of this layout.
